To be fair, Charlie Craven's books have the best fly tying instruction I've seen (a close second is John Barr's book, on which Charlie helped).
But none of the other books gave me as detailed of insight into the author's process of discovery and design for each fly as Mike Mercer's Creative Fly Tying/5(9).
